We’ll drive through the country’s rural heart, soaking up the beautiful scenery and stop at two state-of-the-art wineries to try 11 different wines (red, white and rosé) to give you an epic overview of our wine culture. And if that wasn’t enough, a visit to one of the best restaurants in the country (for traditional gastronomy) is also on the itinerary. Full itinerary

Although, some will visit Romania for its worldwide fame around Transylvania’s Castles and Dracula’s legend, we believe that our wines are equally fascinating!

With a long and complicated history, Dealu Mare vineyards, originally documented back in XV century, represents the most accessible wine country area from Bucharest, and they will offer some of the best wines and experience available in Romania, focusing mainly on reds, Feteasca Neagra being the all time star, but with extraordinary whites and roses to match all taste buds!

We start the tour early morning by picking you up from your hotel before heading out in a comfortable minibus and driving approx 1 hour and 30” away from Bucharest into the rolling hills and vineyards of Dealu Mare. The drive itself is a unique opportunity to explore with your own eyes different layers of Romania’s country side that will turn back the clock in time for around 200 years. Small villages along the route and their communities will reflect a different side of Romania.

To top it up, we decided to stop for a quick morning visit at a wonderful Monastery half way through our trip.

By the time your senses awaken and your curiosity is all set up for today’s wine experience you will be already close to our first family-run, state-of-the-art winery! One of the most beautiful things to happen to this lands, a relatively new winery run by professionals that are absolutely in love and passionate about their wines!

With one of the most amazing architecture and a view that will daze anyone, this winery will have us sipping through 6 of their extraordinary wines, while learning about their premises, vineyards and the way they produce and deliver their amazing wines.

Approx. two hours later we will sail out towards one of the most amazing traditional restaurants in Romania, and the best in the area. The Dacian’s Farm is a place that was meant to revive our long standing heritage, the local cuisine, all in surreal surroundings and with a glass of the best local wine by your side. The lunch will consist in a farmer’s platter or a traditional local soup to get you ready for our next winery!

In just a short while and drive, we will reach our next objective for the day, yet another wonderful modern winery that will suffice any connoisseur passionate about wine making art!

We will be settling around 5 different varieties and a wonderful experience inside. Checking out all the wine making facility, the barrels and the extraordinary wine tasting room. This winery will have you satisfied in terms of Romanian wine making and quality!

It is now time to sit back and relax while we conclude our experience with the return drive towards Bucharest through the everlasting authenticity of the Romanian rural side.

Your private minibus and driver will drop you at your hotel, while your local guide will make sure that you receive all recommendations based on your specific interests.

Inclusions: Local, English-speaking guide; a traditional cheese pie ”Merdenea” and a traditional street-snack “covrig” ; two different wineries tasting and 11 varieties of wine, 1st winery will offer 50-70ml x 6 varieties, 2nd winery will offer 50-70ml x 5 types, including snacks for pallet cleansing between tastings ; lunch with either a farmer’s platter or traditional local soup, one glass of wine/water or coffee
